There is an old song with the line, “It’s just my imagination, running away with me.” This has been me throughout my entire life! A childhood friend told me recently the stories I told her on the bus about my haunted barn had scared her. (First of all, I don’t remember telling her that, but I do remember thinking it was spooky out there.
Stories run through my head continuously. My excitement to write full-time gets me up early most days! The adventure begins in the morning, bright and early. Maybe not so bright at 4 a.m., but it is early. You can find me typing out escapades for my middle-grade chapter book.
The book I work on now is the second in a series about four mischievous boys who find mysteries to solve everywhere they go. I recently signed with a publisher for the first book and any of the following manuscripts in this series! A dream come true.
Is there something you “imagine” you would like to achieve? It’s never too late. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana as a “nontraditional student” when I was forty-three! I began a private school when I was around fifty! And now, (fingers crossed) will be a published author at sixty!
What do you hope to achieve this year? Take it from me; you can do it!
