What do you love? Who loves you?

When we think about what we love, it usually brings a smile to our faces. People, places, pets, good food, and a multitude of other things are what we say we love. Our lives are also filled with things we look forward to doing. We might love a sports team or fishing. All of these things make our lives enjoyable and fulfilled.

The true meaning of love comes from something much more profound. God’s love toward us is hard to grasp or understand. When we look at His love, an amazing thing happens. Our hearts are drawn to this purest form of love and respond by reaching for Him. The good news is His love for us began when he created the universe. Even in the beginning, He planned to reach out to us in love.

Since February has  Valentine’s Day, there will be red hearts everywhere. There is nothing wrong with thinking of romantic love or love for those around us, but don’t forget the original love story begins with God. Take a moment or two to thank Him and reach out to Him if it’s been a while. His love hasn’t changed for you! It’s always been there.

The verse that saved me is John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God bless and keep you during this fabulous month of love!
