Do YOU have sharks in your life?

A shark is an incredible predator in the ocean. They can be beautiful, sleek, and swift. They can also be terrifying, brutal, and life-crushing. The picture is one I took on our vacation to Destin, Florida. This shark was caught right off the beach where people were swimming and children playing in the shallows. The fisherman was waist-deep in the water and reeled this beauty in after several minutes of struggle. I was mesmerized and terrified at the same time. People walked right up by its mouth. Even though he was not in his natural habitat, he could’ve still bitten someone!
I think we need to recognize the sharks in our lives that keep us from our full potential. In my life, fear of failure keeps me stagnated in my creative endeavors. I’ll let this fear paralyze me, and boy does that bite when I miss an opportunity because I was too fearful of taking a step into the unknown. What do you have in your life that keeps you from moving forward?
While I don’t recommend fishing for sharks in real life, I challenge you to catch those sharks in your life that keep you from success. Success in your family, work, or relationships. So as Shark Week wraps up, go fishing and get those things that hinder you out of your life and move forward! Happy fishing!
