Celebrate Reading!

I don’t remember a time in my life when I couldn’t read. Books have played a huge role in shaping me into the person I am today. I can still remember stories I read as a child, and that was a minute or two ago.  Since I’ve always loved reading, it’s only natural that I’d want to participate in a blog hop called For the Love of Reading!

Being an author of children’s books brings me such joy.  To think about children reading a story I crafted is a dream come true. As an Indiana author, I wanted to write a story about kids who live in the Midwest. To honor all the good books I’ve read in my lifetime, I want to give one lucky person a chance to win an entire set of The Bomb Squad series. This three-book series features mischievous Bryan and his three friends.  Book 1  begins with the boys earning the nickname the Bomb Squad after a mishap on the Fourth of July. In this first book, the boys solve a mystery while learning what it means to be a good neighbor.

Book 1

In book two, Off the Grid, the boys find themselves in trouble again when they go camping. This time a flash flood tests their friendship and survival skills when all their cell phones go dead, and they’re stranded behind flood waters. They take shelter in a cave, and find some exciting treasure.

Book 2

The new release, Seaside SOS , has the Squad heading to Florida for a quick vacation. Once again the boys find themselves in troubled waters! They meet a new friend who tells them about egg pirates on the beach. The kids join forces to save the sea turtle eggs, and find new adventures once again.

New release Book 3

All three books are great for kids ages 9-12 years old. Tweens love the mystery and adventure. Parents love the family-friendly storyline.

  1. I practically lived at the library, so it’s mostly a blur. Yet the ones that stayed with me most were The Little House on the Prairie series, Curious George & Charlotte’s Web.

  2. I was a huge reader growing up, so I read a lot. One of my favorites when I was young was The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

  3. I have always had a book in my hand. Reading has always been my entertainment. I have tried to instill that in my boys. Your books have done that for my son. He is always excited for the next one in the series. Thank you!

    1. I’m happy to hear when a young person enjoys the books! Writing book four of the series now! Holiday Havoc will be out this fall or early next year.

  4. Of them all the one that really stuck out to me was Snow White. I honestly can’t tell you WHY I preferred it, but I always have.

  5. I actually read a lot of Stephen King when I was a teen! I loved how big the books were. Kamyle would love this series. She is a big reader and she’s 10 years old.

    1. Tweens love the Bomb Squad series! I haven’t read Stephen King, although I’ve started a few books, but never finished them.
