Every spring presents new challenges and changes around our place. This year, we decided the old deck needed to be replaced. It’s sad to see the old one be demolished after so many years of enjoyment: birthday parties, family reunions, summer afternoon lounging, visiting with friends and family, and so many other activities we’ve enjoyed over the years. Our girls were in grade school when it was built, and now they have children of their own. It was long overdue to be updated.
Does your family resist change like ours does? Our children and grandchildren never want us to change things around the house. We all find comfort in the familiar, right? I had a purple bathroom for many years, and when I painted it green, my granddaughter still referred to it as the purple bathroom two years later. Soon, I’ll post pictures of our new deck. For now, we’ll remember all the great times on the old one.
Tell me something you need to change, but haven’t been able to do it yet?
