The Miraculous

Like most of the country, we’ve had lots of snow. Then the bitter cold set in, keeping the white stuff around for a while. It looks beautiful out our back window. The woods and fields are picturesque with whitetail deer leaving trails and bedding down near our house. I’ve kept busy writing my devotional, which I hope to release this year. It’s been a labor of love to think of all the marvelous things the Lord has done over my lifetime. Putting things down on paper has given me a sense of faith I haven’t had in a long time.

While in prayer one morning, I felt God nudge me to be even more transparent when talking about the miraculous. His abilities aren’t tied to our worthiness. He hasn’t done these things in my life because I’m a super Christian. He does them because his will is to care for his people. I may not understand everything that happens around me, but I do know that God isn’t limited. His hand reaches for anyone who will reach toward him.

I’ve seen people healed, transformed, and protected. Not because they deserved it, but because of his mercy. The battle for our faith as Christians begins in our own minds. Do we believe he can do the miraculous or not? Is he in control, or is evil too strong? Today, I type these words with conviction of God’s will to do the unexplainable in your life. Reach out to him and believe. If you struggle to accept his will in your life for a miracle, then be like the father who believed but struggled to accept it. Cry out to God and ask him to help your unbelief.

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24 KJV
