Is anyone else ready for spring? If you live where the seasons change, this is the worst time of year. It’s almost warm but still chilly. The first shoots of spring flowers are popping up, and they may still be covered in snow. This time of year is hard on teachers because children feel restless, too. My writing has taken on a different style because I’m sick of winter, but spring hasn’t arrived yet.
Garden catalogs have already arrived for your reading pleasure. That’s if you haven’t planted and put seeds under a grow light. The hope for spring looms large during this time of the year. Spring hasn’t arrived yet, though. We’re still hauling in wood for our wood burner because the nights are cold. The sun is setting later each day, but it’s still dark too early. It’s funny that March is filled with green decorations when it is drab and dreary outside.
I read somewhere long ago that spring fever is longing for something so hard your heart aches, but you can’t tell anyone what makes you feel this way. This is me today. How do you handle the last few weeks of winter?
When the sun is out I like to sit next to a window or outside…..just soak up that beautiful vitamin D. It just lifts the spirit!
