Dancing in the Rain

I don’t know about dancing in the rain but I do know that I’ve been walking my dog in the rain lately. It’s been a cold wet season in March so my hope is that April will bring more sunshine not more rain. If you do have to be out and about, you’ll feel like dancing no matter what the weather is with this giveaway of the two book series, The Bomb Squad and Off the Grid.

This two book series contains lots of adventure for children ages 9-12. The family friendly stories contain enough excitement to keep kids on the edge of their seats but parents find the conclusions consistent with what they are teaching their children.

Boom! One spark sets off a chain of events that changes Bryan Bouwer’s summer. He never meant to set off the Fourth of July fireworks, but he did. Bryan and his three friends, Josh, Shorty, and Tim, earn the name, The Bomb Squad. Luckily, no one gets hurt, but now the neighborhood blames them when things go wrong.

Not only that, but Bryan’s new neighbor moves in with no furniture, nothing but the tattered blue suit he wears. The boys sense a mystery! They start a campaign to find out more about him. But will anyone believe them when the Bomb Squad tells what they see?

Despite his parent’s warnings, Bryan’s curiosity gets the best of him. His grandpa always told him, “Curiosity is a good thing.” He thinks he might need to ask Grandpa if he meant science or history. With his friends by his side, they investigate as only The Bomb Squad can. Will snooping, or just plain luck, get the answers they need to find? Can the Bomb Squad earn the neighborhood’s respect back?

When real trouble sets in, the Squad sticks together to help each other but will it be in time?

This is Book one of the series! Book two finds the boys on a camping adventure they’ll never forget. Off the Grid contains lots of laughs along with tons of challenges for the boys to overcome.

Enter for a chance to win both books in the series. One entrant will win the two book set. This contest is in the US (sorry not Hawaii or Alaska), you need to be 18 years or older. Sorry No P.O. boxes. This contest is from 4/6/23 to 4/27/23. The winner will have 24 hours to respond to the notification email or another winner will be chosen.

My hubby & I like to walk to a local crab shack for dinner sometimes in-season. Just last early summer, we headed down there. It was beautiful out. But after about an hour of sitting there, eating crabs & chatting, it clouded over, got very dark & as we were finishing up, it started to pour! We pretty much ran that mile home, laughing the whole way! I kept thinking that I am far to old for that…but it was fun!

  2. About 8 years ago my kids and I were parked across the lake and waiting for the fireworks to start on July 4th and it just started down pouring so hard. We could see the large crowd on the beach scrambling to get out of there. We knew it was coming and it was just a short shower but it was heavy for about 20 minutes and then dried up and the fireworks continued as scheduled but the crowd was much, much smaller.

  3. I was tent camping at an air show in Oshkosh WI when a violent wind and rain storm hit during the night. The tent collapsed on me and I thought I’d get blown away.

I remember being a teen and walking home one day it was a long walk and i got stuck in the pouring rain. Had to walk home in it. But in the end it honestly was great!

  5. Traveling for a work conference and it was like driving through a hurricane. I had to stop many times because the rain was so bad.
